A social skill is any is any competence facilitating interaction and communication with other's where social rules and relations are created, communicated and changed in verbal and non-verbal ways.
Skills can help students gain confidence and communicate more effectively with other's, helping them in the long run. Student's who have social skills can communicate clearly, calmly and respectfully. They show consideration for the feelings and interests of their peers. Studies show that the most important skills to learn are social which include cooperation, self-control, confidence, curiosity, empathy and communication.
Social skills learning improves student's communication with peers and adults, cooperative teamwork and helps them become effective, caring and concerned member's of their communities.
